Today is not like any other day.

I write this sentence to break the pattern match in my mind.

The match that says, “Today is just like yesterday.”

Not so.

Today has new lines, edges, and intersections that weren’t available yesterday.

There are new smells, tastes, touches, and visions to have and behold.

New paths to walk.

New landscapes to explore.

If I do not remember, I will forget and repeat yesterday.

My perception will not allow the new frontier.

I will live the past as if it is the present.

I will draw the lines too close to my knowings.

I will make sure my perception confirms the former version of myself, the old wounds and the common misunderstandings.

I will live like it is yesterday, when it is really today.

 – Imagination Speaking –

I wrote this poetic flow not knowing April is National Poetry Month.

I wrote it from a place of longing for more – for myself and for others.

I want to expand the lines of imagination for me and for everyone that journeys with me in our deep and rich work. I’ve found that financial work, life design considerations, and money conversations place me at the frontier of an existence that is often yet-to-be-written. We – the client(s) – and I stand face-to-face with the shaky edges.

We often ask, “What If?” as we traverse unknown lands.

I witness the many reasons for this shakiness or shut-down on a daily basis. And, in this survival/life place, I’ve found the bravest of people.

The results of good financial conversations produce fresh, innovative, and integrated people.

People who are bigger in their skin – belonging more to their life –

because they observed the most shame-filled, fear-based places

with freshness and hope.

I want to be part of a journey that meets the practical realities of life resourcing head on while allowing for the mysterious shifts and expansive energy that inhabits our work.

This place. This edge. This margin is known and unknown.

We can deal with what is. And, hold what will become.

The blend. The intersection. The multi-angled solutions.

I hold the heart-hope that we can can live Today as if it is really a New Day.

Not yesterday on repeat.
